Thank Mother Earth

Before you plant your garden this spring, take time to thank Mother Earth. Begin by thinking about the blessings Mother Earth bestows upon us. We abuse and poison her, but still she sustains us.
After your garden is plowed, kneel directly on the freshly plowed earth in simple ritual. Let your knees sink into the earth. Crumble the soil with your fingers; let it fall to the ground. You've done more than just prepare the seedbed, and you've done more than connect with the earth. You're connecting with the Wheel of the Year and the rhythm of the seasons.
In an act of purification, sprinkle the soil with a few drops of vinegar. And now, my fellow gardener, you've learned one of the secrets only a gardener knows: We don't control the earth; we are partners with the earth.

New views

April Fools' Day gives us a chance to look at the world from a different point of view. Like the Hanged Man in the tarot, turning ourselves around (and letting go of our dignity) can bring us surprising answers and insights.
Pick a book at random, and flip through it without looking until you feel like you've found the right place. Look at the fourth sentence on the page, and see what it suggests to you.
Does this sentence bring a person to mind? A situation? What is the completely opposite way to think about the sentence? How might it apply to your life? What does it suggest about something you might be clinging tightly to, even though it no longer works for you? What could you do that would bring that energy into your life? If that sentence really doesn't work, try flipping though again, or use a different book.
